This week I decided to develop my web page on my personal site off campus
so I don't have to worry about copying it before my account is terminated
when I graduate. I also decided to code it all "by hand" so that I can keep
my HTML and CSS skills up to date. I began to think about navigation ideas.
I don't think that the 'fish eye' concept will be workable for me - too
much programming and not enough time. Also, I started my resume. I don't think
I will have an online resume that is a clone of my regular one. Instead, I will
try to make my web version more about my experience as opposed to the straight
out facts. This way employers can get a story behind my experiences. I began
planning and writing the CSS too.
Week Two
Spent a good portion of this week trying to write a novel navigation system up,
but when I asked people if they liked it, I got mostly negative reports, so I
decided to scrap it and just go for a more traditional system instead. I placed
the nav bar at the top and made it very simple to use. Got a lot better feedback
out of this one. I also wrote up the projects page and made a template for all
of my future pages.
Week Three
Did a lot of content development this week. Wrote out my online resume as well
as the home page. Also decided to write a bio page to allow someone to get to
know me better as a person. Decided to develop the travel section at a later time.
Schedule is a little tight, but I am pleased with how things stand right now.
To Do List for Next Version
Fill in travel section
Refine and update resume with most current experiences
Work on CSS a little bit to refine the look a little bit
Add more projects and perhaps source code to the projects page
