Online Overview

I am looking for a software or network engineering position in any kind of business. I hope to find a place where I can grow professionally and personally. In return, I am ready to bring my academic and personal experiences to bear on any challenges your organization is facing. Here is an outline of my past educational and work history:

Internship Experience

2002 - Cisco Systems Inc. - San Jose, California
  • As an engineering intern in the HALT/HASS Labs, I was responsible for designing and conducting overstress test on high-end Cisco routers and switches prior to their release to market.
  • This involved applying my CCNP level expertise in order to test out new technologies and make sure they are ready for market.
  • I also spent a considerable amount time on the side redesigning my group's web site. I completely automated the posting and retreival of test documentation and reports thereby saving my team many hours of manual page updates.

2001 - The NIC Company - Palo Alto, California
  • As an intern in the NIC Company engineering department, I was responsible for testing the startup's core network appliance product.
  • Being the only on-site expert in the product's operating system, Linux, the company relied on me to assist the external developers in fixing bugs and building customized versions of the software.
  • I consulted with the company on an ongoing basis during the school year.

2000 - OpsWare, Inc. - Sunnyvale, California
  • Known as Loudcloud during the boom times, I served as a UNIX System Administrator intern at this managed hosting service provider.
  • I was responsible for configuring and maintaining servers for many of our customers, which included Fortune 500 clients.
  • I was also tasked with automating daily administrative tasks so that the group would never be burdened with them and could work on more important things.
  • My experience culminated when I was in charge of the systems deployment of one of our new customers.

1999 - Crossvue, Inc. - San Jose, California
  • At this growing startup company, I was responsible for client and server administration as well as moving all of the servers and network services to a new corporate headquarters.
  • I learned how to configure all types of Windows and Linux based services ranging from WWW to FTP to DNS.
  • I also ordered and established a high speed T1 link and migrated all of the corporate services from an older ISDN line without a hitch.

Education and Skills

  • Graduating 5/2003 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY.)
